  • Provide the knowledge and skills required to take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during emergency situations at sea.

  • Train seafarers in managing survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship;

  • Enable seafarers to take command of a rescue boat and its crew onboard merchant vessels.
